There are many family activities in Sheringham and the villages surrounding it for families:
The Splash - a leisure pool with giant water slide, small pool for very young children, cafe and gym.
The North Norfolk Railway - offers nostalgic steam train rides to Weybourne and Holt station. There is a Nature trail from Weybourne station which takes you from the station through woodland to an adventure playground. There are Thomas the Tank special weeks and Santa Specials at Christmas.
The Shire Horse Centre at West Runton has demonstrations of working horses pulling ploughs as well as miniature breeds and has a riding stables for those interested in a ride out into the countryside.
Seal Trips leave from Morston (near Blakeney) daily in the summer and involve a boat ride through a channel at high tide and out to Blakeney point, where you are almost certain to see seals basking in the sun. They often swim up to and around the boat. Rides have to be booked and times vary according to the tides.
Glandford Shell Museum is a tiny and delightful museum, containing hundreds of shells. It is found by taking the A148 through Holt and continuing through Letheringsett turning to the right on to the B1156 which is signposted to Glandford.
Beeston Priory is just outside Sheringham, just beyond Beeston Common. It is an interesting place to visit as it is a spectacular ruin and there are remains of the buildings used by the monks and also the fish ponds where they raised fish which they used to feed their community and their visitors. The Priory Gardens is nearby which is open to visitors and has a cafe.
